That's happening with nautilus only? There is no real reason for
nautilus to react differently to double clicks than other applications,
the bug is weird

OK, this happened to me today for the first time ever with a non-video
file, namely by double-clicking on a .tex file, Kile opened twice.
I think that somehow when the system is busy loading the app, the double
click event gets sent twice. Or it at least looks like that.

This happened with my old Logitech Dual Optical and with my new Logitech
MX518 mouse. So I don't think it's a bug with the mouse.
I found out that this happens only in "List mode".

I don't confirm the bug, maybe your mouse is buggy and generates extra
click events or there is an xorg bug?
