the latest version of Ubuntu / Empathy seems to have resolved this.

No. i can't. Because, there are no buton or something similar and of course the
notification stay.

You could see that we have a notification. (super_...@gmail.com aimerait savoir

I just hit this as well. The contacts were actually spam, but I'm not
sure if that was the reason I couldn't find how to approve/disapprove
the request.
