[Patch] The resolution of Display Port for intel cards is limited
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Took me a long time but finally got to testing this.
In the v3.3-precise kernel the native resolution IS detected in System Settings
> Displays, but I cannot apply any changes from there.
Using `xrandr --auto --output DP1 --mode 1920x1080 --right-of LVDS1`
Does work however.

You linked the precise kernel, do you want me to test that even though I'm
running oneiric?
In the mainline directory the ones that look most recent are:
3.3 RC 3 - precise
3.2 RC 4 - oneiric

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.3 kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've
tested the upstream
