There is a bunch of bugs open about devices and drives listed on the
desktop, in the menu, to the nautilus sidebar, etc. I'll register a
specification to get that discussed at next UDS so it can get worked

Happens to me too. Auto-mounted partitions are only visible in /media/ not in
"Computer", which would be the better, more user friendly behavior imho.
Pretty sure it's that mentioned HAL bug.
