Looking at the output of dmesg the device seems to be recognized as
eth0. What does the output of 'ifconfig -a' return?

I have found that Dapper auto configures my USB port when the cable
modem is hooked to it, as eth0. Edgy and Feisty do nothing with it at
all. They may not be searching the USB ports for network connections?

Please don't give up on this, Brian. So far, everyone I've asked for help
on this has just given up on me, and I haven't been able to find enough
information to figure it out myself. It has to have something to do with
the way Dapper assigns drivers to the hardware during loading. My modem
