After reading comment #70, it sounds like you are able to boot a precise
kernel, just not consistently? When the issue happens, can you see if
you care able to access one of the other ttys? This can be done by
holding Ctrl + Alt then selecting F1, F2, etc.

Just updated to kernel 3.2.0-12, blank purple screen on first boot,
second boot worked. Removed all extra kernels except 3.2.0-6. I will
continue to see how everything works, and I have working kernel as a
backup.

A) a frozen purple screen, forcing met to push power button to power off
B) a GRUB menu, and when selecting any kernel other than 3.2.0-6 i boot into
a black screen with a blinking white cursor on the top left.
It would be great if you could try the latest precise kernel. The
