A work around is posted in that thread on the Ubuntu forums.
I'm rejecting this bug as it isn't a bug in libxcb - seems to be a dated
SDL library that is bundled with Neverwinter Nights, the Ubuntu packaged
SDL libraries don't have this problem.

I have libxcb 1.0-1.1ubuntu2 installed. I think it is the latest as I do
my updates every day.

Make sure you have the latest libxcb installed. These assertion bugs
should not happen anymore. If it still does, please reopen.
