Could you please include the output of the following command:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gconftool-2 -g /system/gstreamer/0.10/default/audiosrc
i get the same message you mention in your last post, and change the
sound capture to alsasrc solve the problem for me.

Yes, I tested it with gutsy and it is even more bad. The sound recorder
shows an error and closes. Error is something related to 'multimedia
settings' not being proper. And I don't know what I am supposed to do
about it. I tried changing many things in Preferences->Sound and also in
volume control
Closing this bug since no more information has been provided, feel free
to re open it if you may test it with Gutsy Gibbon.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducable with the
live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Gutsy
Gibbon. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can
work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out

'Line' was toggled when I made recording using audacity.
But the other setting is unintentional. I don't even know what it is.
The only input/output I ever use are Line, Mic, Master, PCM.

Capture exclusive group: 0
Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
Capture channels: Front Left - Front Right
Limits: Playback 0
Files /etc/asound.conf and ~/.asoundrc* don't exist.
