Over Christmas I dual booted into Windows and run a error check on my
NTFS drive. I also run my box with the case off for a few days. The
error check took ages, but finally completed. Since then I have not
encountered the crash problem.
Please could you mark this issue as closed. Thank you.
Since this was also happening in Natty, would it be possible for you to
try some of the early Natty kernels available at:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/
It would be very helpful to know what version this started happening

Hi Joseph,
I'll give it a go. I first saw the problem before I upgraded to 11.10,
so version 11.04.
Based on that what would be the best kernel version to try? 2.6.38 and
before?

http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/
It would be good to know the last kernel version that did not have this
issue.

Tried upstream kernel v3.2-rc4-oneiric/ dated Dec 2nd. There were
errors during installation and I was unable to boot.
Happy to try something else.

@Bryan
Just wondering if you were able to test the mainline kernel, mentioned
in comment #2? It would be good to know, to see if this issue is fixed

Is there another way to find the log, rather than netconsole?

@bryan,
Did these oopses start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This
will help determine if the problem you are seeing is the result of the
introduction of a regressive commit.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . If possible, please test
the latest v3.2-rcN kernel (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once
