upgrade to feisty fawn, head 5. All went fine. sudo apt-get update; okay. sudo apt-get upgrade - x11-common stuck asking for a nice level for the X server. Being discussed here: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=363923 None of the work around helped in my case.
