Empathy Audio/Video support is worked upstream now, but it's too late to
integrate it into Gutsy. Maybe in Hardy if the progress of their work
permit it.

Gossip-telepathy is not maintained anymore and replaced by empathy, even
if launchpad indicates "a bug" if a report is done against baltix gossip
telepathy and not ubuntu one.

Upstream is not going to fix it, as they removed support for telepathy
in gossip. empathy in gutsy might fix this though. Do you have the
problem there?

So, if I understand, you are willing to make a feisty package and push it on
the repo when it gets merged upstream?
Also, I don't understand, isn't feisty in version freeze already, can this go
through? It would be great, as SIP is really hard to use, and wengo is very
old-fashioned.

Voip is not yet merged upstream.

I would subscribe to this too, just installed gossip-telepathy in hope of a
nice xmpp client supporting googletalk (now merged into xmpp specs.)
I will try to do some searching about how to make the voip enabled branch work
in ubuntu, any hints on what could go wrong?

The voip branch of gossip is not up-to-date. It has many conflics, if
someone wants to help to propose a patch against svn HEAD to add to voip
stack it would be very appreciate and will help merging everything in
head.
