Could you recheck it with Gutsy RC or newer? It is shipped with the new
Intel driver which should fix this issue. 915resolution is then not
needed anymore.

I've installed Herd5 and It worked like with Edgy: I just installed
915resolution and after reboot the resolution was fixed.
However, I think this should not happen anymore: People should not do
this workaround. Ubuntu must detects whether 915resolution have to be
installed.
