There are two things to fix for this bug.
First, I will apply the patch to wxwidgets2.8, then I will make filezilla build
with wx 2.8 (instead of 2.6 currently).
I will also file an UVF exception request for beta7.

I think I have the same problem I tried to retrieve the list and it just
disconnected, it makes the same problem each time I try retrieving the same
folder.
I have the dapper version.

Confirmed too. in my case, filezilla HANGS completely 'wiping out' all
the XMLs in the /home/user/.filezilla as a plus... (arg, my complete
queue)

I can confirm this issue.
I attached a connection log, maybe it will be useful to someone.
This bug seems Ubuntu-specific : all precompiled beta downloaded from
filezilla.sf.net don't work on feisty, whereas the same package
(including the last patch) works on sid (and latest betas too).
