Hmm, now this seems to be fixed on my computer, when eg. booting from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20070405/feisty-desktop-amd64.iso
Assuming (for now) that the issue has been really fixed.

Not centred on my amd64, quite easy to test it by just taking eg. the
latest daily amd64 live image from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/
and boot from it.
Gfx card is ATI X800 GTO, which needs currently vga=XXX parameter
because of bug 8.

And I might add that it was not centred either when I booted with the
integrated ATI Xpress 200 gfx, even though it does not have that other
bug.
Everything works fine if I boot a 32-bit live cd instead, or an
installation.

Currently the file is:
xres=640
yres=480
which are the default. At one point I might have changed it to see if it
would change anything but that wasn't the case. Do you think there's
something I should do?
AFAIK, initrd is regenerated on each kernel upgrade, if so then it's
doing it frequently a

Pardon me for asking, you changed /etc/usplash.conf and regenerated initrd.img
of course?

Confirming, it's not centered with any resolution or vga= parameter. I
mentioned it as a side note in bug 8.
