I see this with Ubuntu saucy (Kernel 3.11.0-12-generic 64 bit.), on a
Thinkpad T520 as well. This seems to happen when the system is under
heavy workload and I experience system freezes at the same time (So it
does seem to have a usability impact for me).

Matthias Redlich, if you have an innocuous message that has no usability
impact, and doesn't fill your logs with GB of data in a matter of a few
minutes, it's a non-issue.

A few weeks ago, I tested this issue again using a BETA version of
Ubuntu 12.04. However the problem still seems to exist, since I got the
same error messages after enabling Optimus in the BIOS.

It seems like this problem is somehow related to the integrated NVidia
Optimus technology of my laptop.
If I change the BIOS settings (Graphics Device -> Integrated Graphics,
OS Detection for NVidia Optimus -> Disabled) to use the integrated
graphics card only, the above SATA errors disappear. Re-
