Forgot to mention. With the ubuntu normal kernel, the crash would happen
perhaps a half a minute or minute from restore. With the mainline it
happened pretty much immediately from restore.

Ok, I now managed to get the crash with mainline kernel. The packages
that used for the mainline are:
linux-headers-3.2.0-999_3.2.0-999.20190406_all.deb
linux-headers-3.2.0-999-generic_3.2.0-999.20190406_i386.deb
linux-image-3.2.0-999-generic_3.2.0-999.20190406_i386.deb

I had similar kind of freezes before, but since I had the binary fglrx
driver in use debugging would have been much more complicated. Currently
that is not being used.
I can try to install the mainline kernel next weekend and see if this
freeze happens again. It is not happening after every suspen
