i really miss this feature as well.
i abandoned amarok quite a while ago, but i remember there being a
variety of convenient ways to rate the song currently playing.
* the notifier in the menu had a stars-bar attached where you could rate the
song much like explained here:

I want to just "right click" on the current played song. Also it should
be integrated into the sound menu, but stars visible all the time and
"left click" to change it.
