Andreas, I think this was basically a dupe of bug 71071.
Daniel, this goes beyond just lack of antialiasing in gtk+1.2. The way
it's set up means that the remaining gtk1 apps in Intrepid look far
worse than th
Various attempts have been made to make the appearance more pleasing (I
even "ported" antialiasing once), but the better approach (for upstream)
is to use GTK+ 2/Qt 4/etc.
