wifi network interface missing after dist
I tested with:
Ubuntu 11.10, kernel 3.1.0-030100rc10-generic
Ubuntu 11.10, kernel 3.1.0-999-generic
Ubuntu 11.10, kernel 3.1.0-996-generic
With none of the kernels lightdm started, however I checked on the
terminal and ifconfig did never show wlan0. If I should check something
else, please tell me

Rebooting with 2.6.38-11-generic enables all functionality again. wifi
is working with old kernel under ubuntu 11.10. I simply selected old
kernel in grub. But this is not a fix, I fear...
