fixed. CPU 100%.
It uses wx2.8.

+1 from me to build against wxwidgets2.8 now that upstream seems to
suggests it. Anyone noticed any regressions when using feisty's amule
built against wxw2.8 ?

You will have to wait until the packagers of aMule for Ubuntu compile it
under libwxgtk 2.8 instead 2.6. I have compiled the source with the new
version of WX and the bugs doesn't appear, so be patient.

I have the same problem. Amule sits at 100% CPU but still remains fully
responsive.
Running Kubuntu Feisty Herd 5 with amule 2.1.3 and libwxgtk2.6 (not
updated since CD install).

Perfect. I have installed libwxgtk2.8 (and its headers), compiled aMule
and works great. I didn't know these had been already added to Feisty. I
have had to uninstall libwxgtk2.6 if I wanted to detect the newest
libraries (without adding any path to ./configure).

i can confirm, with wx2.8 runs great, always below 5%

rebuilding amule against wxgtk2.8 fixes this for me.
I will attach the according debdiff which also contains the required patch for
wx2.8.
it also updates the package to the new motu maintainer spec.

I am using Feisty and I have realized about this bug some days before,
and I see that this bug has about that time. I have been using Feisty
for two months and haven't had this problem till now. I have downgraded
aMule to Edgy version and it happens too, so I suppose it won't be an
aMule's bug but
Probably could be a wxwidget problem. I run amule in feisty

Could you tell which Ubuntu and amule version are you running?
If you are running Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft, I think the problem has been
fixed in Feisty, so would you mind to test it?
Also, I have no cpu load problem with amule and feisty.

I think it's not a problem of amule, maybe wxwidgets??
With the most recent amule-cvs the problem remains, cpu load remains between 80
and 100% on a Core 2 duo t7200
