All VMware desktop products would be effected by this bug as well
(Fusion, Workstation, Player, View), as the default screen size is
800x600. And we can't resize the VM at that time since tools have not
been installed.
Cheers, Jakob.

Hi,
I have a new Monitor attached 2 my desktop PC, resolution is 1600x900.
Would it be likely this could affect me too? Just to point out Desktop-
PC might be affected too...

I'm bumping the priority on this to High. I suspect in addition to
netbooks, any device with smaller resolution (or that is running in
1024x640 due to random graphics detection issues) is going to hit this.
It sounds like Canonical will be trying to target a wider diversity of
devices in the futur
Occurs on the Dell Inspiron Mini (1024x576). This was one of the Ubuntu
pre-install machines, so 576 pixels high might be worth targeting,
rather than 640.

Same problem, eeepc display 1024 x 600 but I would imagine you would
have this problem on almost any netbook,

The "Choose a picture" window stopped my install. No way to proceed I
thought.
Do note by that time "grub" was screwed which took a scramble with a usb
hard drive to get running again.
