Since this bug was against the Xubuntu cd specifically, it is fixed. If
you are experiencing a similar bug using the Ubuntu images or CD, please
file a new bug report after starting a live session (boot with the CD in
the drive, choose "Try Ubuntu". You open a terminal, and type 'ubuntu-
bug ubiqui
This bug is NOT fixed. I have exactly the same problem. I am using the
latest ISO of regular ubuntu (not Xubuntu).
My hardware is quite different, the only thing I have in common with the
above reporter is that I also have an "advanced partitioning" scheme
(i.e. I set it up manually, since I like

I have been unable to reproduce this issue using the Xubuntu Oneiric
Ocelot ISO images dated 2011-10-09. Perhaps you would be able to provide
more details, such as:
Which image exactly?
What partition method?
Did you check "download updates" or "Install 3rd party software"?
Language?
Keyboard?

The bug is still present in the Oneiric x64 daily build as of
2011-10-09. The installer crashes when showing "importing user settings"
even if it is a fresh install.
