I use gmail. I have desktop-webmail installed, or whatever it's called
these days. I removed all mail clients I could find, I think this was
Thunderbird.

The code does:
g_app_info_get_default_for_uri_scheme ("mailto");
g_strdup (g_app_info_get_executable (app)
strstr (mail_cmd, "balsa")
so somewhat it doesn't find a mailto handler, what email client do you
use? did you uninstall the default one?
