I still got this problem after the release of intrepid... Please take a

I just booted the Intrepid Live CD from Oct 22, and connected using an
Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG (ipw2200). Everything worked fine. The AP is
dual band Netgear WNDR3300 setup for WPA/PSK TKIP.

Forgot to mention. I'm running a up-to-date Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex here. I
ran Ubuntu on this laptop since Feisty, i never had these problems...

I need to open this bug. I own a FSC Lifebook S-6120 with a Intel

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

could test the new release and verify if this is still an issue -

I can confirm this for hardy as well, my laptop is a Samsung P35 (more info in
attachment).
This bug occurs very rarely for me (once every 20 boots or so), but it seems to
be caused by heavy network traffic shortly after the activation of WLAN.
When it happens, it looks like this:
- login to Desk
Still a bug on a fresh hardy installation (03/12/2008).
The laptop is a Panasonic CF-W2, doing rmmod & modprobe solves the problem.
