I believe the issue of the second battery appearing after suspend has
been resolved in indicator-power-0.9-0ubuntu2 via bug 863518. Please
test and let us know.

Likely the suspends are triggered by inactivity. There has been fixed
made to gnome-settings-daemon which exposed a bug in the defaults (the
fix made g-s-d correctly use its defaults, which we had never set
correctly). This led the default on idle for AC to be suspend. Likely
the new battery is
