the -extracodecs is gone now. Please make sure you have libxine1-ffmpeg
installed and all will be fine. thanks.

Eri the fix mentioned in the thread you gave worked for me
modified the .xine cache file and increased Decoding priority from 5 to
10
audio is fine now

Got the same problem here, however even after uninstalling the libxine-
extracodecs I don't have the sound working.
with --verbose option I got (with or without extracodecs):
ffmpeg_audio_dec: couldn't open decoder
audio_decoder: no plugin available to handle 'RealAudio COOK'

I have the same problem on ubuntu, however I also had this problem on
sabayon linux. Downgrading xine-lib in sabayon to the version number
used in edgy fixed it.
