It does not freeze anymore! Good thing.
But when volume reaches 0 (quiet), I cannot increase it with the
keyboard, I have to do it manually.

in a terminal, then try to make it break and copy the output here afterwards?

manager do you use? Do you use a composite manager? Can you still switch
to a command line with ctrl-alt-F1 when that happens? Do you have
anything to /var/log/messages /var/log/syslog or /var/log/Xorg.0.log
about that?
