I can confirm this using the 2007-03-11 daily build of the server CD. I
was able to get the system to boot by appending "root=/dev/mapper
/vgtest-lvtest" where vgtest and lvtest were my volume group and logical
volume names.

It just dawned upon me that I didn't mention that this was in a qemu
(with kqemu) virtual machine. This configuration should of course still
work inside qemu, but it might be valuable info to you.

And what should root be set to? Also /dev/mapper/vgname-lvname ? In that
case, it doesn't help. It just sits there for three minutes waiting for
the root device to show up. I also don't see why this should help. The
root option is already passed correctly to the initramfs, which can also
