global search is enabled in the lens. i do this all of the time. maybe
i'm misunderstanding the issue?

I actually didn't know the music lens was supposed to find results from the
music store online.
I was talking about music I already have on my computer, if I type in the name
of a song or artist, no results show on the dash home screen, I have to click
on the music lens to see any results.

Apparently this is because the backend server that provides the results
is down.
On bug #850714 comment #6 I've added the procedure that Alex gave me for
pointing 'unity-lens-music' at a testing server. This server only
returns dummy data, but was sufficient to allow testing that the lens
works.
Could you tell me what is incomplete about my report so I can provide
the missing information?
