Additional note: in 80x24 textmode, the monitor's OSD reports:
700x400, 61.5K, 70 (I assume resolution, Hrefresh, Vrefresh)
When booting with Usplash, the mode changes to
1024x1024, 64K, 60
This mode is the same when X started succesfully (as it has now)
