Thanks for the additional information about nVidia cards, I will keep
that in mind for future reference. Due to the fact that you have
resolved this I am closing the bug, but feel free to let us know if you
encounter any other issues.

Actually I have gotten the issue resolved. Aparrently when using any of
the nVidia drivers in 6.10 or higher Ubuntu (not sure which other
distros or releases this will affect) you have to add this line to your
xorg.conf
Option "DynamicTwinView" "False"
I do thank you greatly for your help however
Thanks for the additional information. It would also be helpful to see
a screenshot of the control panel with the refresh rate of 50, 52 and 56
Hz. Thanks in advance.

the output of "sudo xresprobe nvidia":

Strange, since my monitor is a Gateway 19 inch widescreen LCD. Thanks again
Thanks for your bug report. Could you please add the output of
/var/log/Xorg.0.log to your report? Please also execute 'sudo xresprobe
nvidia' (if nvidia is your video driver) and add the output to this bug
report as an attachment. Thanks in advance.
