This log was created by choosing "stop process" in System Monitor and

one is from killing the gnone-settings-daemon in system monitor and
running the debug command as you say.

Debug gave me no information on the bug happening. The screen cut off
and no new information popped up. Do you still want the largely useless
logs?

Yay for more updates: Broke my Oneiric install last night, decided to

Restarted and idled ten minutes, fine; ran totem and idled, screen cut

UPDATE: Last night, things worked correctly after some updates. But,
after suspending my computer for the night and resuming in the morning,
the bug "returned."
I will do some more tests to figure out if I can add more data.

Okay, scratch that previous comment. Just updated and decided to test
the bug again. Booted (with three applications set to run at startup)
and, once it was started, ran NOTHING. I let the computer idle for 11
minutes. The screen did not cut off. I then tried to run totem. Compiz
crashed as I tried
I can fill in the details: When I run the computer, if I leave it idle
for ten minutes, the screen will cut off. My settings are all set for
the screen to shut off at a half hour at the earliest.
Conventionally, when the screen cuts off in the proper fashion (which I

Typically, I set Turn off after to 30 minutes (screen still cuts off at

lock at 30 minutes when I tell the system to cut off the screen.

Actually, in system settings/screen, there does seem to be two different
settings.
"Turn off after" would be the screen blanking
"Lock screen after" would be the screensaver.
What are your two values set to?

How do I "fix" it then? I understand that Totem should and is disabling
the screensaver. But I have tried everything and the screen still cuts
out at ten minutes. I've tweaked all the GUI settings I can find, at one
point, deleted all my config files and still this persists.

The screensaver gets suspended while totem is playing a video. That is
by design.
The screen that blanks after 10 minutes is actually the power management
turning the screen off with DPMS, and has nothing to do with the
screensaver.
I'm not sure you actually have an issue here.
