In the mean time I also installed 12.04 alpha 1 to hope the bug was not
present, but unfortunately it's still there.

It might happend that even if the wifi is correctly connected to my home
router, it can't transfer any data, either to/from internet, but also
to/from the router or other devices connected to the home network.
There's an kernel crash listed there, and it seems to be the most likely
cause for failing to be able to send or receive data:
