I can confirm this with Feisty up to date.
To eject the Ipod you have to do an "sudo eject ipodDevice"
Is there any other option ?

I can confirm this with Feisty up to date. I also noticed that if you
unplug w/o ejecting from Amarok and the desktop, 2 steps, your syncs
don't stick sometimes as well.
