Yes, this bug happens for me too. If I have a second monitor plugged in
and attempt to use the workspace switcher, I get all of the goofy
workspace imagery onscreen which is impossible to use.

I confirm this bug as well, this bug is since Natty, but has become more
severe in Oneiric, since mouse position does not reflect clicking
position any more.
It should be fixed as soon as possible because it affects many people
using ubuntu at work.

I can confirm that this bug is at least partly cause by displays having
different geometry. My Laptop screen is at 1366x768 and the External
LCD is at 1360x768. If I set both displays to be 1280x720 the problem
goes away.

I'm an idiot. I'd changed to a Gnome desktop from the Ubuntu/Unity

a major upgrade since it was in the thick of the Oneiric beta. I still

Assuming that we're both patching our systems regularly, we should be
running the same major releases of the major desktop applications, then.
I wonder why the difference?

The new Unity switcher in Oneiric solves this one very nicely. I
haven't experienced the bug since this new version of Gnome was
introduced into the Oneric 2-3 weeks ago (when it was still in beta).
This is the unity variant where that revolves around a dashboard showing

Bad bug...makes WS worthless. Cannot control workspaces at all from
second monitor. Workspace selection on primary monitor is very erratic.
I have same issue - dual monitor, one at 1920x1080, the other at
1920x1200.

Omer Akram and David Barth: I submitted the duplicate bug. I can
confirm that no special steps are required to get the behavior shown in
my screenshot, or in nevergone's screenshot.
Nevergone's screenshot shows that the bug isn't related to the stacked
monitor configuration that I was using. A s
confirming from duplicate and probably no steps are required just using
the WS switcher can do it. Though I dont have a dual monitor setup to
test.
