I really wish this would be fixed. The active blur performs horribly on
intel cards pre sandybridge, no blur is unusable, and static blur is
incredibly glitchy.

Surely all this needs is a much darker tint? I would prefer opaque but
at least a darker tint would be useable.

Well for me it looks bad!
I really would like to set the transparency of the unity panel as I can set it
now when Dash is on No Blur. Yet I need to keep the dash look like it is under
Active or Static blur.
