in my version of kontact/basket on feisty there is not a box to
select/unselect basket as a kontact component.

in kontact, select settings, configure kontact, select components, then
uncheck basket. This will solve your issue.

Basket 0.6.0 was never in edgy (6.10)
I've got no idea what dependancies, etc, were used for building this
binary.
Upstream regards this as a feature - but i'll check this again with the
feisty version, when it's synced, which has the kontact integration.

time I open Kontact canlendar it automatically launches the BasKet
window which is a bit annoying. Maybe this is regarded as a feature, but
