This is a duplicate of Bug #80778
To get the fix, remove your ~/.gconf/apps/compiz directory, or update
your gconf keys to include the window decoration.

And another thing: this is Ubuntu Feisty freshly updated from the normal
repositories.
I could never get compiz or beryl to work correctly on this machine,
though using some other repositories I could in the past at least get
them to work slowly (and very unstably).
