Yeah I've experienced such ugly appearances in past only unity-3d
stuff had such "wrong resolution", scaled, blurred, ugly!

Seems like it could be an Compiz issue with the incorrect pick for the
dpi, or something like that. Will report what I find when I install
fresh OO Alpha 2 this Thursday.

Asus T91... Yeah, unlucky little bustard indeed ME! The same bug as

Just to make things more clear.. the resolution for lcd panel is
correct, is 1366x768 as native resolution.. so not a issue with video
drivers or monitor.
only unity components (panel fonts, launcher icons and dash) are badly
painted.. looks like unity is an another layer on top of desktop and it
