It doesn't happen all the time, just in some cases. I've so far been
unable to determine the conditions that cause it to crash, it seems to
occur semi-randomly.

Hello I had the same problem with the kernel: 2.6.20.16-generic
I tried the kernel 2.6.20-16-386 and with this one I don't have any problem.

It happens on my pinnacle card, and I also noticed it happened on my
fathers hauppauge card, both using the bttv driver. ps indeed hangs, and
starting kdetv after it fails. However there is no useful info in dmesg
or syslog. Kernel is 2.6.20.16-generic on both. This bug is probably a

Hi I am trying to use kdetv in gnome but it keeps crashing. I was going
to file a bug but this looks like what I am experiencing. I use kdetv
