Installed a fresh installation of Natty (Xubuntu 11.04), clicked on Alacarte and had the menus disappear from the Xfce session. Installed the package garcon from -proposed, restarted and the menus are back. Thanks for fixing this bug. --- Ubuntu Bug Squad volunteer triager http://wiki.ubuntu.com/B

Hello Wookey, or anyone else affected, Accepted garcon into natty-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance! *

I got the same error when I clicked panel properties → edit menu. I've found a temporary solution - removing / deleting xfce-applications.menu file from /home/user/.config/menus enables to open menu without problem. I have Ubuntu Natty : dpkg -l | grep xubuntu-desktop
