I did an upgrade to today on my Advent 4211 (MSI Wind) that has the
realtek card and network manager dropped connection frequently, though
output suggested it was connected. it was not possible to load sites.
WICD also could not load sites. However an uninstall of network manager
and reboot immedia
I agree that is a good idea, that WICD should on install remove network
manager. I will file that as a separate bug because it is a separate
issue to the fact the network manager regularly does not work.

This bug should probably be against wicd, as a wicd install does not
remove all networkmanager components. The networkmanager components
that remain installed prevent wicd from functioning.

The system is completely up to date. I am not sure which driver I am
using, below is the output of lspci -v if that helps. The card and
driver work with WICD but not Network Manager. So I believe it to be a
Network Manager problem not a driver problem. As I said in my earlier
post network manager h
