Hmmm... if /etc/default/apport had "enabled" set to 1 as described in
the previous link, I would have thought it would request to submit it
for you when the crash happened.
If there is a crash report in /var/crash, then I believe "apport-bug
/var/crash/filename.crash" will cause it to submit that
it crashed again and i have the mythtv-dbg package installed. if i
apport-bug mythtv-frontend, will it send enough information or do i have
to do something else to get more information for you?

If it is crashing, then we can try to submit logs upstream, but the
developers will really, really want to see the crash report (which
apport should offer to submit for you when it crashes - and when it
does, it will open a new ticket as well as attach the logs).

it's not playback problems; the frontend crashes and restarts. i have
the debug version running (as per previous request) so i'll try to have
more verbose logs for you next time. i'd prefer you reopen this ticket.

enabled and update to the latest version of the debug packages by

i played an unencrypted DVD that had some read errors when i copied it to the
hard drive. it crashed the frontend again. i'm starting to get pretty annoyed
with the inability of the frontend to play dvds properly.
i played the dvd with xbmc just fine. if that had the same easy filelevel

ah ok, i do have the libcss and other dvd packages installed. i can run
other dvd files just fine. i'll check if this one is still encrypted.
but even if storage groups dont support encrypted dvds, it really
shouldn't crash on it. a message saying why it wont play the files would
be nice.
