Been using skype for a few days now and the patch in my post above seems
to have fixed the crash problem for me. I applied it to the latest
ubuntu-natty kernel from kernel.ubuntu.com.

I get the same symptoms, and I've attached the error messages that I get
in /var/log/kern.log as an attachment. The last section repeats
thousands of times before the system freezes.

Another update: happened again with kernel 2.6.39. I will try downgrade
to ubuntu 10.04 kernel versions, because this is rendering my system
unusable for Skype.

More news: I've installed kernel files for version 2.6.39 and sounds
it's working correctily now, but they aren't at user repositories yet.
