After some experiments I conclude that apt-cache policy output gets
corrupted when appending .UTF-8 to the LANG variable.
Without this, output has priority alone, but when appended, priority is
surrounded with parenthesis as seen in the file attached in the last
post.

I tried changing all of LANG, LANGUAGE and LC_ALL to en_US.UTF-8 and C
and in every case I get the following message:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ $ LANG=C
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ $ lsb_release
No LSB modules are available.
It only crashes when any of those variables are set to "" or my current
locale: gl_ES
Thanks for your bug report. Could please attach the output from the
following command: "apt-cache policy 2>/dev/null"?
