they come from Ubuntu sources.
Please file beryl bugs directly at http://bugs.beryl-project.org/ Make
sure to include version numbers of beryl, since development is moving so
rapidly!

I know it really went wobbly on me big time. I have been able to get it
to work but I need to start beryl manually from terminal. It doesn't
like it when I use the option from the session menu. I just wish It
worked with Fluxbox but unfortunately it is a wm and not a desktop manager.
