I understand how it may be frustrating because it is different from
other operating systems, but it is working how it was intended to work.
It is not a bug, that is why it was rejected. If you want to request a
change in the functionality, my first comment gives you a place to
start.

Why do you simply reject such bugs?
This is just NOT the way it works in any other operating system, including
other linux distros. While ubuntu should be easy to use it shouldn't behave
different in such things. That's not "easy to use" if people expect something
which is totally different.
