Thanks for the instructions. Works fine now. Although of course I have
no cpu frequency readings. I'll let you know about how the auto suspend
works.

These are the steps to install the patch:
1. Save attachement to temporary file (for example: /tmp/guidance.diff)
2. Perform the following
cd /usr/share/python-support/kde-guidance
cp powermanage.py powermanage.py.orig
patch -p0 < /tmp/guidance.diff
Then restart guidance-power-manager

kde-gui

Fix confirmed, though it still gives this (scary looking) output:
power-manager: ERROR: Communication problem with power-manager, it
probably crashed.
