This is a issue we are very much aware of, unfortunately we don't have
the resources for fix this issue in the 12.04 cycle, however it is on
our radar and will be solved in a subsequent release. Marking 'opinion'
because the solution will be part of a larger body of new functionality,
and the exact

Wow, the middle click close is awesome. That should really be included
default in Unity.

this worked in Ubuntu 10.10 but was not implemented on the move to
compiz. I believe not much was touched last cycle on the expose front of
Compiz for Unity. I expect that to change for Oneiric (my statement is
not official its just a guess ;)
