as the needed packages for that are non-free (due to Adobe's license for
the included CMAP files), this cannot be fixed.
Please also note that these CMAP files are only necessary for documents,
which include CID fonts instead of Truetype fonts.

This problem is still present in Ubuntu Gutsy Beat, meaning that people
who install language support for an asian language cannot view pdf's in
that language.
Can this bug please be assigned?

This bug is still in the final Feisty, meaning a lot of Korean,
Japanese, Chinese .pdf cannot be read, even though support for that
language is installed.

"sudo apt-get install xpdf-korean" was required to solve it.
